Milestones are the markers—big and small, positive and negative—that string our stories together. We’re thinking about traditional milestones, but also subtler ones. Here are some examples:
- Beginnings and endings—of jobs or school years, gaining or losing family members and friends, moving near or far
- Challenges and struggles—a difficult season, health issues, unexpected burdens
- Celebrations—a good grade (or a lesson learned), meeting a goal, catching up with an old friend, tackling a hobby project, trying something new
- Anniversaries—of marriage, sobriety, participation in a community, or any of the things listed above
Really, milestones are just a structured way to say, “What’s going on in your life right now?” If you’re willing to share with our community, please contribute a sentence or two about your milestone(s) to be shared in the church newsletter. Because of Chimes’ quarterly publication schedule, the time frame for milestones is roughly three months into the past or future (for those you know are coming up).
Feel free to submit multiple milestones, and encourage your family members to contribute as well!
